Pop art project

Pop art is a way for anyone to express their feelings for something, it's also art based on modern popular culture and the mass media, especially as a critical or ironic comment on traditional fine art values. Everybody uses it and it's a way to express yourself.

   For this project I decided to do a MineCcraft house because it is a very popular game for all ages and everybody at least knows the name. I made a smaller version because if it was in real life it would take 3 blocks to cover up one story. This took me a total of 4 hours, and it's not finished.

   During the process of my project, I when trough some ups and downs. One of my downs was coming up with the type of texture because there are hundreds of textures and I could not pick one. Another thing that I found difficult is building the building because there where small pieces and it took sometimes too long for the glue to dry. During the process I also had successes. For example at the very end when I was putting on the last paper for the texture, it came out amazing and was really proud of my self. Also I lived how I cut the windows because they were not to big or to small.

 

Logan's Bio

Logan is 15 years old and was born in Manchester, England but raised in Denver.He goes to KCAA and loves the school because it lets him be himself. He loves video games including MineCcraft and "Middle-Earth Shadow of Modor". He mainly focuses on art in drawing and doodling. Logan also plans to become a book writer in the near future.

Photojournalist-Javier Manzano

There are many photographers out there in the world that will risk their life's trying to get their word out. Many of them die but also survive through the things they have to go through.

     For my photojournalist that I decided to research was Javier Manzano because when I was going trough his website I found his pictures that where outstanding. Javier Manzano was a very famous photographer, and film maker. He was born in Mexico and moved to the United States which his family when he was 18.

   When he came to the USA, he started to photograph the issues that was going on when people where crossing the border. He also was photographing the army and to see what was going on. And won 2 awards of the best photos in 2006 and 2003.

He continued doing his job untill 2009 when he closed his doors to his last employer.

    He was very happy to what he was doing because he knew that he was changing something to the world. Because people knew that it wasn't easy crossing the border and that people faced struggles to start a new life and to see there loved ones that live on the other side.

    All in all he was a very powerful photojournalist who was very inspiring to many other photographers and me. He makes me want to travel and photograph things that are happening across the world. 

    

Cultural extinction

   For my propaganda poster my project I picked an MP3 because it is an object that we do not use anymore, at least all the teenagers nowadays. The reason I picked the mp3 is because I use to have it back when I was in elementary, now everybody uses iPods and mp3s are not as known as they use to be. To start my final project  I first had to think how I was going to put it on a big poster. I was thinking of the media I was going to use, the colors, and also how big was the mp3 is going to be. After I was done with the rough draft, I started on my final draft and ended up making it with a big piece of paper and make the mp3 with construction paper. 

   During this process I had a lot of challenges I had to face, but at the end It was successfully done. One of the challenges I had to face was picking how big was the mp3, and how will I make it fit on the paper. Also another challenge I faced was picking the color because straight our my head I wanted to pick the color white but I couldn't pick that color because the pig piece of paper was already white. So I though of getting black but it would be to dark. So at the end of thinking hard I finally chose to pick red because it was bright and the mp3 was the thing that  was going to pop out the most.

   Also I had a lot of times where I felt really successful. Because during the process of my project I felt really good when I got the size of the mp3 good because it was really hard at first but at the end I got it at the good size. Also another part that I did goodies where I got the screen right, because I had to chose a specific blue to match the mp3, so I can make it not to light blue, but at the same time, not dark blue. Also during the process I also felt good when I got the face and also the shape of the circle in the middle with the face. The last thing I felt successfull is where the writing in the screen because it came perfect with the shape.

   At the end there where parts where I feld successfull but also there where parts where I failed. I made challenges that where really hard, and challenges that where really easy. I chose this because i wanted people to p understand and see what we don't use anymore.
